True enough, and no disrespect intended. I think your videos are cool overall and I appreciate you taking the time to inform others.

  2. OSGUIShow Says:

@bigfoot30045 but there was the very sexy Mint slideshow

  3. bigfoot30045 Says:

It would have been better if you paused the video while it installed. I can understand why you wouldn’t if there was something useful to see, but there wasn’t.

  4. Ubuntufrog Says:

@tsolorio3001 If you really want things to fly for ya, use the Mint LXDE edition for that machine. :)

  5. OSGUIShow Says:

    @tsolorio3001 nice netbook ;-)
those wireless problems will be all fixed in the next version… iv been beta testing and wireless is working out of the box now with all new wireless chips in netbooks
    yay

  6. tsolorio3001 Says:

Got Linux Mint 8 installed on my new Ferrari 200 netbook. Everything seemed to work out of the box except with the wifi. I played around with the router and the nic manager and found that changing my router to G only and replacing the network manager with wicd fixed the problem with wireless getting dropped. I had tried the Ubuntu Netbook Remix and it would just freeze up way too much for the amount of memory this llittle notebook has. Linux Mint works much better on this little machine.

  7. OSGUIShow Says:

    @juju6182 lol hehehe

you can do it from USB too and thats faster and you can save stuff that way

i show that in another video

  8. OSGUIShow Says:

@EasyLinux basically the same if you can setup ubuntu you dont need mint

  9. EasyLinux Says:

Well, I have not made many videos in a long time due to screen capture problems with Ubuntu 9.10, and on Linux Mint 8 it worked fine. Should I just go back to Mint? I like them both the same.

  10. juju6182 Says:

I’m running linux mint 8 from a live cd on my dell and Its f*cking fantasic!!!! Surf the net, watch videos, look at adult material with no worry of viruses! hells yes…

  11. Linuxrat Says:

    @OSGUIShow
I agree. I have a personal preferance for KDE cause of all it’s eye candy that Gnome just does not have.
Sometimes you have to dig pretty deep to find some of the eye candy, like the 3D buttons.

  12. donman92 Says:

Linux Mint is definitely a lot more user friendly in many ways. Easier to use and a lot more fun. Look up Compiz Fusion (previously named Beryl).

  13. GhettoGaming Says:

its alright and i got it downloaded anyways but i cant find a blank cd thats like 1.7gb or higher cuz i got a couple that are 700mb

  14. OSGUIShow Says:

    on the linux mint website
i cant post weblinks in youtube comments sorry
    its under community editions
and it comes with KDE 4.3 so u would need to update it to KDE 4.4 after install

  15. GhettoGaming Says:

wow! i just watched that vid kde 4.4 looks amazing! but where do i download the kde with the linux mint? like i know how to boot it up and install it and all but i just need to know where linux mint and kde are

  16. GhettoGaming Says:

ah ok i think i get the diff. and ill watch it now

  17. OSGUIShow Says:

watch my new KDE 4.4 video

KDE vs Gnome is like Mac vs Windows in interface

they are very different looking user interfaces

  18. GhettoGaming Says:

kk ill try out mint but what i dont get is whats gnome and whats kde? like isnt it just like 1 version like windows or sumthing?

  19. OSGUIShow Says:

well if your using ubuntu with gnome then i suggest you try Mint with KDE
KDE is more user friendly then gnome

  20. GhettoGaming Says:

i have ubuntu right now and im nottt that satisfied with ubuntu, i mean like its ok i guess but im looking for different linux distros. shud i get linux mint?

  21. OSGUIShow Says:

    cool thank you

  22. OSGUIShow Says:

i understand and some of my videos are targeted towards newbies and some to savvy techs… also i have to cut out silence space in videos a lot to fit them into the 10 minute youtube limit and that is why it sounds like im talking fast coz u don’t hear much break between my sentences only due to editing… i have another server with uncut longer videos which are better and found on my site

  23. OSGUIShow Says:

    the only one that works
    recordmydesktop

  24. OSGUIShow Says:

    your welcome

  25. OSGUIShow Says:

    what do you mean??

    it is very easy
It is more easy to install programs in Linux than in Windows or Mac it is much more hard and more clicks

watch my video on synaptic package manager so you can understand how linux package management is 1000 times better than a exe installer
