A router would be the best and cheapest way

    The easiest ways are:
    1. use a broadband router with several (usually 4) ports. Then you can connect a computer to each port.
    2. use a wireless router, and connect the machines wirelessly. You can usually connect some of them by cable to the router instead. If you are using wireless MAKE SURE you enable the security features.

Note that you may need slightly different equipment depending on whether you have cable, or ADSL over a phone line. If you’re on dialup, you should probably forget it!

You should get a router with several input so as to be able to plug in you computers.
You can contact your internet provider to ask if they can change your router with one that has several input slot (ports)
I got one with 4 inputs (ports) and we have 3 computers connecting to it.

there are a fair bit of ways to do that. . . these are the best 2 for sure. .
    1. fairly cheap and effective = router (that means has a modem inside)
    2. cheap as. . . not very effective = one pc always on with a hub

If you have wireless cards inbuilt in your laptop then follow the procedure:
First of all lets configure laptop with broadband connection.
Just double click the wireless network icon > then click over “change advanced settings” after this a “wireless network connection properties” winow will appear. There click over “wireless networks” tab.
Now click over “Add” button. now type any name like “test” in the “Network Name (SSID) field. Next select Network authentication “OPEN” and data encryption “Disabled”. Now at the bottom you will find a selection box “This is a computer to computer network(ad-hoc)network; wireless access points are not used. just select this box and press ok dont select anything else.
Now Open the broad band connection properties and look for “Advanced” Tab. There you will find “Internet Connection Sharing” box. Just select that box. Under “Home networking connection” from the drop down menu select your wireless card and press ok.
Then probably restart your laptop and enable the broadband connection.
Note: enabling ICS on windows will automatically assign an ip address 192. 168. 0. 1 to the internal network card, in your case your wireless card.
Your Laptop with broadband connection is now ready to share its internet with any computer with wireless card.
Now suppose The computer with shared broadband connection is A with ip address 192. 168. 0. 1. The other laptops are B with ip address 192. 168. 0. 2, C with IP address of 192. 168. 0. 3 and D with 192. 168. 0. 4. Remember, you will have to manually configure these ip addresses over rest of the laptops other than A. assign 192. 168. 0. 1 as gateway and DNS address of laptops B, C, and D. in the wireless network properties.
Now You are ready to rock. simply on laptops B,C,and D search for available nearby computers in the wireless utility. You should find an available network “test” just double click it. your laptops BCD will get connectec to laptop A and you can start browsing.
For further doubts or clarification, you can revert back any time.
