I do not like it when people complain about a problem with the “plan” By making a review for the phone. It is irrelevant.
With that being said, I have an E71-2 NA unlocked. Although there are some features taken, which is easy tier phones AT & T at the top and one of the best phones on the market, as honestly other carriers have not kept pace (except for T-Mobile G1 Pre soon and Sprint).
The phone is like, not so much an i-phone, but a BlackBerry, the phone is a matter of pure.
But his as fast and reliable.
I had very few glitches with the E71, Symbian has been long enough to become effective and refined, although it is not always pretty. As they were leaving some nice features of this phone, most have stayed.
With that being said, I still think the E71 is a better buy unlocked phone, but for. 01 entry fee, its probably the best phone market entry. Largely because of his ability is excellent Internet browser (such Skyfire is great), but also because in terms of smart phones, nothing beats it has saved for the more adventurous. I strongly suggest this phone, and we urge people to go on the rocket or any other WinMo phone, and go with this phone. This is a better option.
With that being said, if you are going to use it for business purposes, I would use the money you saved buying this phone without charge, and d to invest in RoadSync, which is a good program to push e-mail. Although it has push e-mail is not fully capable. . . RoadSync is a great software third exchange that makes the phone quite capable.
Also the phone is probably the strongest on the market thanks to its metal housing It can take much abuse. It is noteworthy that AT & T is to reintroduce the Symbian smartphones in such an elegant package. It is a great phone.
With all that said, this phone is great especially all cases. Its great for that, though.

I have had many cell phones over the years and this phone is the best I’ve had yet.
I had a LG VU before it and I loved the capabilities of the VU as an internet device because the touch screen text. However, I found myself using chat java apps on it and the touch screen was not that great. In addition, I needed a better way to get my work email using Outlook Web Access.
My wife saw an ad for this device on a website and we visited a store to check. I played around with it for 25 minutes in the store and decided that I should have. The accumulation in the Web browser is better than expected and was accustomed to. Pages displayed well and navigates between them is much easier than most cameras I’ve used. The full keyboard is easy to enter search terms, addresses, and even messages on the forums text.
Installing Opera Mini also creates a very good experiance. The only thing missing is flash support.
For Java, it works perfectly, although now I think there are a ton of Symbian S60 applications available that work much better and much faster than Java applications. Using instant messaging is super simple and combined with the ability to multitask, I can be chatting in IM and talk on the phone with my Bluetooth headset at the same time.
Synchronization my work e-mail with this phone was a snap. I just installed the Mail for Exchange and put in my username, password and server address and all my Outlook contacts, calendar items and e-mails instantly appeared. It was much better than what should be done for BlackBerry (it costs extra if more than 1 BlackBerry phones in an organization and must install a server software!).
I am really surprised that nobody mentioned the camera. This phone has a 3. 2 MP camera with flash on it. The color is amazing for a cell phone and the pictures are clear.
This phone comes with a data cable and synchronization software can be downloaded free. The software installs easily and lets you install applications, sync your contacts and address book with Outlook (if you’re not using Exchange Server) and also make a backup of your phone should anything go wrong .
the call quality is great to excellent. I can hear people very clearly and they can hear me just fine and that I sounded better than my VU. The signal strength was as good as the VU if not a little better.
GPS, if not super fast, is great. Combined with the free maps from Google, it does exactly what I needed him to do and I did not even know I’d use.
Now some of the points Negative:
The kind of battery life sucks. I have to load EVERY DAY. As you read, I am an experienced user, so I’m constantly using it. I am always on instant messaging, twitter by gravity, and my phone constantly syncs with the Exchange server. Do not do this and you may have better luck. I keep my charger in my office during the week and the load before leaving for the day and recharge it by noon the following day. The charge comes home on weekends so I will be buying another. . .
I ran out of memory pretty fast with all the stuff I put on it. So I bought a card of 15 $ 2 GB of memory. I have not come close to filling that time.
This is certainly my phone for a very long time.
P. S. I have a family plan and had no problem buying this phone.

Background
I am a librarian and a very patient person. Through my work, I support engineers, chemists, scientists, doctors and lawyers. One of my professional duties is to work with the IT group to design user interfaces and end-users being new databases. So I am not technologically challenged.
If you buy this phone, to become familiar with these blogs Nokia E71 and the Nokia website. You may want to read about it here first. [. . . ]
After receiving the phone, I showed the E71x some of our non-techie types IT professionals. I just gave them the phone and did not seek to prejudice their views. Most were users of Blackberry or iPhone users and said it was not very intuitive and the screen is very small. They all noted that there was a steep learning curve just to be able to use all the features.
I could use all the features of my boyfriend Blackberry and my friends, Apple IPhone without getting a user manual. Compared to the Blackberry or iPhone, it was not friendly at all. The phone is too complicated for the average user. I also believe that AT & T does not support this phone well. I just found a support person to the local AT & T store that is very familiar. It has a E71x and loves it. But it has been formed on the phone and uses it himself.
I consider myself an early user and will patiently learn new applications and work through issues. I ordered the phone May 18. After having the phone for a month, I agree with others. It has many features for the price freebie on Amazon, if you have the time and inclination to work in a steep learning curve.
I believe that most problems I had are related to AT & T and applications software, the screen “theme” because the door unlocked E71 version high marks.
; Negatives
Headphones:
A non-standard 2. 5 mm instead of 3. 5mm headphone jack (filled by a Radio Shack Aftermarket 9 $ 99. Headphone adapter or a 3rd party Amazon seller). An EE friend who is good enough with the technology said that some headsets sold by AT & T for use with E71x does not provide stereo. Take E71x the shop with the adapter and try headphones before you buy. A cheap headset that works is the Plantronics MHS213. I am looking into Sony’s headphones, which work with the map above.
Screen size:
The screen size is too small – not enough building space. No fix.
Screen Topic:
The screen is not well organized and is congested. I want to easily remove the icons of unnecessary applications. The only option I know is to uninstall the application. [. . . ]
Fring vs SKYPE:
I heard that others on the blog have been able to make it work with fring but I was unable to operate the E71x with Skype and most of my friends abroad have SKYPE.
This may be software E71x AT & T. A blog said the developers are working on a Skype application.
Locked vs. Unlocked:
If I buy this phone again, I would buy the unlocked version E71 and pay the difference and postpone their purchases until Nokia supports the Skype application. The unlocked version has a load of different software and software can be easily downloaded from the Nokia website.
Positive:
Nokia take Supported:
On the Nokia website, support engineers online are very knowledgeable and helpful. Someone usually gets back to you within 2 days by email.
Storage
The E71x held an 8GB of music files and you can buy memory cheap on Amazon. Amazon currently sells the “Transcend 8GB Class 6 microSDHC flash memory card TS8GUSDHC6.” Transcend Micro SDHC Class 6 memory card work with your mobile phone, game console, GPS, cameras and other portable devices. Your phone is not need a Class 6 memory card. It will actually work with a class 4. [...]
WIFI:
The E71x works in WiFi locations. You must know the WEP key information. Easy to implement.
International SIM:
E71x can work with international SIM card if you can get AT & T to provide the unlock code. Soon I’ll be working in the Middle East and I am hoping I can at least use the phone in places with WiFi and SIM International. AT & T quoted me $ 2. 49 per minute to use this phone to Qatar, in addition to my family contract.
Push Mail:
To use the phone to the abroad, I will have to pay for each e-mail in my inbox that is pushed through unless you turn AT & T off the function push e-mail. This is a minimum of 59% . 99 extra per month for additional storage and GB domestic unlimited data contract that I purchased does not apply.
In retrospect, I would pay and buy diffference E71.

Firstly, I must say that I am a longtime fan of diehard Nokia phone. In fact, I’ve never owned another brand. I am totally loyal! They take a beating and last forever. They call quality and exceptional clarity. They are durable and biult to last. Never had a problem with everything I owned.
In general I do not like the style of Blackberry phones, however, it is a Nokia, we are talking about! So I had to get it. It was time to replace my 6682 anyway. I’ve had a good time. I tend to keep my Nokia for some time because I get so attached to them and they just never die!
I love the E71x! Very easy to use. WiFi is great! The buttons are a bit small, but I’m sure I’ll quickly adapt. The selection of ringtones is great – funny because they also have a few out there that are actually sung by a female voice lol. I like the casing is stainless steel – adds durability. The LCD is a good size. If you like a full screen like the iPhone, you may not like it, but I have no problem with that at all. After seeing online, I thought I’d be disappointed by the size of the screen, but it turns out it is just right. Plenty big enough for me.
The phone is thin, but a bit heavy. Nothing to complain about though and I think the weight is due to the battery. I love the sleek black finish on it. It collects fingerprints easily, but they are easily “polished” with a rag. A microfiber cloth is perfect for that. . . much like those you use for eyeglasses.
The buttons feel good during use. The housing snaps onto the back and off easily and feels secure in doing so. This effectively locks very well and has 2 buttons for free.
The features list is comprehensive and useful. All process functions faster too! My 6682 always seemed a little slow sometimes, but I still loved her anyway. I hope this E71x had a case of sliding the camera as my 6682 did. I loved this feature! There was no chance of damaging the lens get dust in it, etc. The camera on this phone, as with all Nokia is large and includes all the features / settings that you might ask. I really think Nokia phones are equipped with better cameras. I missed bzillions around with other cell phones and I’ve simply never met a rank up there with Nokia regarding the characteristics, weather conditions or technical physics.
I’ve only been using my phone for 2 days now, but I could test all the features and “played” with it a lot and I must say I am totally satisfied my purchase and recommend this phone to anyone. It will appeal to business users and “regular” users as well. In fact, my son aged 15 who likes full screen touchscreen phones w / slide out QWERTY boards actually said “Whoa!” That’s nice! When he saw my phone. He does not like the Blackberry / Palm phones not more. He was very impressed and also played with it for a while.
I am not a professional user, but I would have all the features that I find use for them from time to time and it is handy to have. I use all the features of multiple media well and always use the camera / video camera as primary characteristics. I text a ton of email and also quite often my cell phone. As I said, this phone will appeal to the business user and the user not working.
Certainly a phone 5 stars in all regards!
Now I’m just waiting for to release a Krusell leather case for E71x. Their cases are the best, I buy one for all my phones and all phones in my family. They fit perfectly and fully protect all surfaces of the phone while allowing full functions while the case is underway. Krusell Highly recommend both!
Edited to add: In case anyone is intereste, Krusell Case for Nokia e71 also E71x fits perfectly. I do not know why I assumed it would not, because they are both the same size / design. I got my case and my Nokia is nestled in the heart of it:). I could not be happier with any purchase!
< ; br /> UPDATE – I have to admit that the battery life on this point is on the short side. It pains me to find a complaint with this phone, but I must be honest. All previous my Nokia we can go days without charge. I charge this phone every day, sometimes twice a day. I got used to connect power to charge each night when I go to bed. It seems to load more slowly than Me too, my previous phones. I’m not sure if it makes a difference or not, but my other (Nokia) Chargers always had the shipper “quick” claim in the name.. it does not work. I also connect in car charger for all car trips, regardless of amount, just to get a little extra on him.
Peeve A final, as someone else also mentioned, you can not dial by letter, for example 1-800-SEPHORA.. you must dial the actual figures because of the qwery keyboard. That really threw me off when I wanted to call Sephora lol. Just some thing to keep in mind. I hope I will not run into too many situations where it might be a problem, but it is much easier soo call 1-800-progressive than to memorize the number lol. I suppose all those who are already using qwerty phones are already used to this problem anyway.
Overall, I still love the phone. These things are not sufficient to change that. It is a beautiful phone!:)
Oh, one more thing.. I am also a family plan.

Watch the video here: http://www. amazon. Strengths:
* Wi-Fi: Enjoy your wireless Internet connection to own Blazing fast connections or use a friend or your business or d a Wi-Fi hotspot at, say, Starbucks
* Synchronize your contacts and calendar with Google, and syncs perfectly with MS Outlook
* USB removable storage up to 8GB. Replace your memory card as often as you like with various collections of music or movies. Your phone can act as an external mass storage USB for drag and drop
* Drag and DROP Media (music, videos, photos, anything) – use Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer or iTunes but realize that you can use whatever you want!
* Bluetooth 2. 0 Stereo
* Full Play-films on your phone (eg,. Mp4) from just loading them on a memory card (s) before travel. (about 3 movies are only good card to 8GB) – use the offline mode for aircraft
* browse multiple Web pages easily with image preview pages, it is easy d ‘perform multiple tasks (multi-surfing?)
* Type with one hand – which is why the QWERTY keyboard is narrower – so you can reach all the keys without needing both hands. ” br /> * Multi-task with ease – never to close an application – pressing Options displays a list of all open your “Windows”
* music player has an equalizer, ability PLAYLIST BUILT-IN, visualizations and more to boot! displays album art too. WOW!
* OS has no gap – fast web browsing, even for video [. . . ]
* AT & T’s thinnest smartphone – fits in my pocket without cluttering
* light considering all its features
* can be connected to a computer (PC or laptop) and use a modem! (useful for power outages or during hurricane season, if you have a laptop or UPSupply) via Bluetooth or USB
* 3. 2MP camera can also make up an hour of video. . . And it offers numerous possibilities for adjustment, plus a self timer and flash LED
* download and view office documents such as MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and PDF
; Cons:
* no touch screen (but I prefer physical buttons instead of on-screen ones anyway)
* interface is not as intuitive to navigate (find things) that the others I used, including T-Mobile G1 /> * my package does not include a 2. 0 to 3. 5mm headset adapter (but it is very cheap to buy on eBay) required for use with most headphones
* no associated letters (on screen) for numbers, so dialing a number as 800-GOOG-411 can be a problem if you can not imagine the number (or those)
Note:
* GPS tracking local services (eg Google Latitude or AT & T Navigator) will drain the battery, but this is true for all phones with GPS services, I’d rather not leave it enabled
Bottom line:
* Perfect for business and technology enthusiasts that do not require touch screen. This phone does absolutely everything you’d expect from a phone to do and then some, it is more elegant and extremely thin. I recommend this phone to those who do not care about using their phone as a status symbol, but more for the purpose of this amazing building and the tools they offer.
