I did research on 40-42 “HDTVs for months, watching the game ideal for my needs that meet my budget of under $ 1,000. I looked at plasmas, 120Hz LCD, 40″, 42 “Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Vizio, Westinghouse and LG.
I finally found – on sale for nearly of two hundred off (exactly eight to one hundred -nine dollars). Is always a great value to a thousand dollars.
I prefer to control too much than too little with my electronics. 42LH30 offers all the control I want and Moreover, it also provides several presets Nice for the type of content that I watch (movies, sports, games, standard). It also allows me to build myself up to 2 preset exactly what I want. I can be picky or I can be lazy and still get a great image for any situation.
The ratio of 50000 contracts dynamic and 5ms refresh rate to make a beautiful picture / performance combo.
I was very close to going with a 120Hz 42 “Vizio. They were to get decent reviews. When the LG 42LH30 been sold, there was much I could not refuse.
There are things that I really like.
The sound is more than acceptable on TV (I used to output audio to my home theater system, if I’ll watch for more than a few minutes)
1) exceptional picture (no compromise with the colors)
2) Great Performance (sports and films do not float in the wind at all so far)
3) Energy Star (several low power modes – I like the flexibility)
4) Lighter than most (easy to hang on the wall – I use an articulated arm)
5) Anti awesomeness-glare (I have many windows in my room 3-seasons)
6) PC monitor outstanding (when I just surf the 42 “)
7) DVD Look at upconverting phenomenal (Blu-ray is a next purchase)
The things I would change:
1) Only 3 HDMI ports (Penalty for Now with my cable box, DVD player, and PC)
2) I prefer a matte black bezel instead of glossy
3) Maybe add an SD-card reader (my DVD player is SD and USB drive, thankfully)

Overall a great TV. I bought a samsung, but it was too thick for my taste. I have not noticed that the timing “lip” problem when using the TV speakers for watching TV. This is a problem with how the TV receives digital input of DVR – dishes that I use. The fix is to keep the MENU button on the TV (on the left side of the TV) at the same press the MENU button on the remote control. Then, enter “0000″ for the code. This will enter the menu system. Scroll down to “Lip Sync” and adjust the number up or down until the lip movements adjust the sound output from the speakers.

The TV is good that the price I paid – $ 629 + tax (Sears). LG is a respected brand in Asia and a 42 “LCD 1080p at this price is a bargain. The image when viewing true HD signals, just life and is breathtaking. Fairly basic connectivity with 1 composite, 2 BC, 1pc and 3 HDMI ports. would have been nice to have a more composite and HDMI port and like newer models have. The speakers are well hidden and makes for a clean smooth finish outside. There are also many (more than you Ever Want) number of controls to adjust the image. Fairly easy hack available to turn on the USB port to view photos and play movies – great bonus. ” ; br />
However, sound quality seems a little sub-par compared to other TVs on the market. I also noticed some light leakage on the farthest corners of the TV — other than Sony or Samsung This seems a problem for other great television. Also, for those of you watching TV signals over the air, please note that this TV does not pick OTA Electronic Program Guide (EPG), which was a big surprise for me, since these TVs dirt cheap that you buy at Walmart or during sales have BF too. Big Goof-up design LG, I would say . And do not expect a Samsung or Sony style treatment low fidelity signals (SD, ED). Signals Standard-Def look a little grainy and poor – I assume that the processing chip is where LG cheaped Out. Invest in good quality up-conversion of your DVD player and change the channel if you run non-HD programming as a work-around.
Finally, the service Customer is not worse than that of Samsung or Sony. A bunch of air-head, a short waiting time and frustration responses. But do not dismiss the television – as I ‘ I said – this is how all TV manufacturers support their TVs (I have a Sony and Samsung), so no big deal. Wish industry has been better overall, thatz all.
Overall, a reasonable purchase if you pay too much. I’m sure you’ll learn to love your purchase – if you are considering it, go on the trigger.

I had this TV for about four months now and I am very pleased with my purchase.
I actually ordered the LG 42LG50 (by Amazon TigerDirect), but they must have run out of them because they sent me the best 42LH30 LG.
Excellent color, great answer (for 60Hz), the SD signal (VCR) look surprisingly good, menus are intuitive, the remote is very well exposed and has an overall look great.
The only thing I did not expect is that n has no analog audio output (RCA L / R out) so you need a digital receiver if you want to run the sound from external speakers.

Are looking for a nice 42 “LCD 1080 and ran through it. Compared with the LG competition seems more than hold his own, the higher the price is excellent. Share other comments good points so I don ‘ will not go in to mention that I found it the best shot “for the buck” in 1080 LCD 42 “TV. While LG is not yet considered a major brand in America, j I bought many LG products when I lived in Thailand in 2005.
I’ve found great products and then still do now. Overseas LG sells all kinds of products. One might almost that is the GE of Asia – excluding LG TV is superior to any other GE – with a huge margin.
I also have a 50 ” Panasonic plasma that I bought a couple years ago when this model was ranked No. 1 by Consumer Reports. This LG has a superior image quality and is perfect for what I need to.
If you buy one – you’ll be happy.
