I’m new to web design, and in the process of trying to find a good hosting service. I plan to have lots of videos and photos on my site, and I was wondering what kind of features are most important for me to be looking for when you are looking for a web host. Some servers are faster than others? If yes, which are the fastest? And is it better to go with a Windows or Linux? Are there other important characteristics that I look for? Since you have lots of videos and photos you want great and I mean lots of bandwidth (amount of data transfer). Web space is also important especially with videos taking up much space, but you really need bandwidth to allow users actually see the videos. And you want a good availability of at least 95%. What is the point of all that space and bandwidth if you can not use it? It also depends on whether you intend to do a lot of cgi / php / other similar scripting languages. If you do, you may want to find places that have more than one database MYSQL.Mais your purposes, the most important things are: 1) bandwidth 2) Webspace
